Complimentary Chips and Salsa

La Indiana is located down the street from where my mom used to work. When I was little my dad was a stay at home dad, the Mr. Mom, and my mom was the bread winner. Through stories I have been told that my parents would go out to eat here. They would bring me and as a toddler I would dance up and down the walkways of the restaurant. We never really went back once my mom stopped working at the dealership.

Jamaica

My dad passed away in 2009 and my mom decided to take me back there. The restaurant is decorated with these big painted parrots. I did not remember going there ever, but the parrots, as soon as I saw them, seemed so familiar. Even though I had not been there for probably 15 years and had no conscious memory of the restaurant, it felt familiar.

Taco and Enchilada Plate

Despitehaving a special place in my heart and history La Indiana has amazing food at really good prices. I have never eaten anything there that I have not loved from their chile relleno to their tacos. They have amazing beans and rice too, which comes with pretty much every plate.

My usual form La Indiana is their taco lunch special. It comes with a fried taco, salad, rice and beans. It is delicious and so satisfying for $5.50.  The beef in that taco is flavorful and tender and it is topped with fresh lettuce, tomato and yummy cheese. My mouth waters just thinking about it.

Other things I have tried from there include their tacquitos, tamales, chile relleno, and cheese enchilada. All very good. Every meal also comes with hot fresh chips, so hard not to fill up on them before your food gets there. This last trip there I tried their jamaica and it is probably one of my all time favorites.
